And even where there are connections that should be strong and dependable there can be breaks and weaknesses that leave you stranded like unwary bathers on the rocky outcrops of despair. Sometimes it is better not to wade in at all, but stay safely ensconced within the walls of your own existence, avoiding all human contact and the pain which that brings.
Yesterday I was soaring to the moon, my internal fire was burning bright and hot and I had the world at my feet; today I have walked into a dark place and can’t find the exit. Maybe tomorrow all will be well again.
